The Oceanid of Qingce is the first boss you will find once you step out of Monstadt and into Liyue. This boss is found west of Dragonspine (where you find the dragon wekly boss) and you need to walk to its nearest statue of the seven to unravel on your map. This boss is very important for hydro vision characters like barbara and xinqui, and chances are that you will need to repeat this boss a number of times. The proper name for this boss is Rhodeia of Loch but many players just call it the Oceanid.
Although experienced players make this boss fight seem trivial in their guides, this is one tricky boss that needs careful planning and specific setup to beat. We would say that it can be rather annoying when one tries to kill it on a new account, without understanding well the mechanics involved. This is a hydro boss, and you cannot attach the boss directly. Instead you need to kill 4 waves of mobs that this boss will throw at you in 4 phases. These mobs can be;
Squirrels that are rather easy to kill.
Boars that are like tanky mobs. Keep an eye out for their charges.
Ducks which run at you but easy to kill.
Frogs, similar to ducks.
Birds which are airborn units that you need to kill with ranged weapons/magic.
Cranes are similar to birds but these are the hardest to kill. They will fly away from you if you go close and will throw small water waves at you every some seconds. You need to dodge their water waves and use ranged weapons/magic to kill.
This boss is a tough nut to crack for newer players, and one needs to practice to get the timing right. This boss will also send a water burst in between phases so you need to either dedge it or heal through the damage. In short this boss will;
Deal mostly hydro damage so a hydro resist potion could be handy.
Is very weak against electro (electro-charge) and cryo because you can freeze the mobs and negate the damage.
Throw 4 waves of mobs at you.
Sink 2 platforms in between each wave, but during this time you can easily heal up your characters or take food.
A cryo, shielder and a healer should always be taken. One can then take characters like Xiangling or Lisa for dps. Noelle with the shield, healing, tanking and burst is also a good character.
